- 2 bay leaves
- 4 cans low-sodium beef broth
- 1/2 cup dry red wine (optional)
- 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire
- 1/2 envelope onion soup mix
- 3/4 cup uncooked pearl barley
- 2 Tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper
